In Michigan, it is technically a felony to "seduce and debauch" an unmarried woman. Under MCL 750.532, a man who uses deceit or false promises to "corrupt" a woman is guilty of a felony punishable by up to 5 years in prison. Passed in 1931, this was designed to punish men who promised marriage just to get intimate.
It remains on the books today as a "zombie law." Should this outdated law be enforceable today?
